I had the pleasure of addressing an CNBC-TV18 Investor Camp in Hyderabad on Saturday, Nov 28. The experience was truly exhilarating.
I have attended many camps, probably more than 60, over the past ten years. But, somehow I could not go to Hyderabad. This was my first camp in the city, as also my first visit to Hyderabad in many years.
I was truly impressed with the place. Absolutely clean, with cheerful, happy people all around. I visited the Old City. When compared to Chandni Chowk in Delhi, the Old City in Hyderabad was much cleaner. Another experience was my visit to Hitech City and the Special Economic Zone. Both areas suggest that there is rapid growth in many parts of India.
MBA students came to attend the camp accompanied by their professors. This was remarkable. In most cities, students will treat holidays as an excuse for partying, but here, the students took advantage of the holiday to learn. Great!
How can there be a bear market in a country which is blessed with a young, vibrant population…?
To me, the answer is easy: we are in a long term bull market, with the Nifty likely to reach levels not imagined now.
For investors and traders, the key task is to manage risk. Investors should stay with blue chips while traders should try to be on the long side of the market as much as possible.
Have Fun!
